Year 5 Spring 2

In Spring 2
we are learning...

In Writing,  the children will continue to apply what they have been learning about in Geography to complete a non-chronological report (in poster form) all about The Rainforest. This will give the children the opportunity to consider the formality and audience of the piece. It will also allow them to include statistics, colons and brackets, dashes and commas for parenthesis in their writing. Inspired by our class Read – Brightstorm – Year 5 will write a persuasive letter that will hopefully convince the Lontown Geographical Society that they are the best people to explore the Third Continent. This will see the children write with formality and in first person.

In Maths, we will be focusing on decimals percentages, perimeter, area and statistics.

In RE we will be learning about Salvation and what Jesus did to save human beings. and discussing the choices Jesus made.
